2009 QLIS - Image 1

ABOUT THE STUDY:

In January 2009, Waco Foundation commissioned Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition (TECEC) to gather and evaluate information regarding children's needs in McLennan County. The report looked at 12 factors related to the child, the family, and the community that serve as indicators for future success of children. A "Quality of Life" index was created that provides a score for every zip code allowing leaders to implement solutions strategically within communities identified as highest need and focused on the 12 factors that influence child outcomes.
