Downtown development, an educational focus, and a steady stream of new facilities were hallmarks of the last four years during Virginia DuPuy's time as mayor. In a wide-ranging interview with KWBU, she talked about her time in office and touched on a main common theme: that there are a lot of talented people in this community who have something to offer, and that the Greater Waco area has positive momentum because of their talents. She's been called as the "education mayor," and she'll continue the education part out of office. When asked about the past, she immediately talked about the future, as she takes over the Greater Waco Education Alliance, which became her signature issue. However, it was not high on her radar initially.
We'll continue our conversation with Virginia DuPuy tomorrow on 103.3, and you can hear more of her thoughts on KWBU Rewind, this Sunday afternoon at 3. For KWBU news, I'm Derek Smith.
