Memberships Help 103.3 FM Build A Habitat Home

WACO, TX--103.3 KWBU FM, Waco's NPR teams up with Habitat for Humanity and Foxworth Galbraith to help build Waco Habitat's 25th Anniversary House (#135). Starting Thursday April 28 through Friday, May 6, 2011 as 103.3 FM listeners call into the station, each membership donation over $100 garners two pieces of lumber from Foxworth Galbraith--500 pieces are needed to build the home--a goal of 250 memberships.

Joe Riley, guest columnist: Latest NPR misstep doesn't reflect Waco station

Chief fundraiser Ron Schiller and a colleague were caught on hidden camera meeting with conservative political activists who posed as members of a supposed Muslim brotherhood and claimed to offer NPR $5 million. In their conversation, Schiller disparaged Republicans, the tea party movement and conservative Christians, among others. He indicated he didn't think NPR needed federal funding. Once the video went viral, Schiller made his resignation immediate. On Wednesday, NPR CEO Vivian Schiller (no relation to Ron Schiller) also resigned.

The segment features four separate hosts: Executive Vice President of First National Bank of Central Texas Jim Haller, Dean of the School of Music at Baylor University Dr. William May, Director at Waco Convention and Visitors Bureau Liz Taylor and Independent Writing and Editing Professional Sandra Sanchez.
