Waco City Council voted Tuesday to approve a property tax rate of $0.755 (75 point 5 cents) per $100 property valuation. On face value, there is no change in rate, but with higher property evaluations, this is effectively a 3.8 percent increase. According to the City, that’s about $150 more per year for the average homeowner.
The City Council also unanimously approved the new Street Maintenance Fee, which begins October 1. For homeowners, the fee is $2 per month and residents can request an exemption if they do not have a vehicle registered to their address.
