Gladys McFadden and The Loving Sisters were both civil rights heroes and gospel music innovators.
The Loving Sisters were always ahead of their time - recording with a full band and, later, touring with their children, playing the kind of gospel funk that made Andrae Crouch and The Staple Singers famous.
