What you need to know about early voting in McLennan county.

Early voting begins today for the Texas Democratic and Republican primaries and will continue through March 1. Voters have the opportunity to decide which party's primary to participate in.

In McLennan county, three candidates are running for U.S. Representative of Texas’ 17th Congressional District. Republican Pete Sessions, who has held the position since 2021, is running for reelection against Joseph Langone for the Republican nomination. Mark Lorenzen is the sole Democrat running.

Republican Charles “Doc” Anderson announced in September his intention to retire from his role as state representative of Texas House District 56. Two Republicans, Pat Curry and Devvie Duke, are looking to fill Andersons spot. They are challenged by Democrat Erin Shank.

McLennan county Sheriff, Parnell McNamara, is seeking reelection and has been sheriff since 2012. He is challenged by Jeff Aguirre for the Republican nomination.
