Today as early voting begins, Texans across the state will head to the polls to cast their votes in this year’s joint primary election.

Apart from the 2016 presidential race, registered voters have plenty to consider.

Locally, voters will potentially elect a new County Sheriff, as incumbent Parnell McNamara faces Waco police sergeant Patrick Swanton and pastor Willie Tompkins.

Also up for vote are seats in the County commissioner race in precincts 1 and 3.

In precinct 1, incumbent Kelly Snell faces challenger Cory Priest, while Ben Matus challenges incumbent Will Jones in Precinct 3.

There are at least 10 unopposed local races, including the 22nd District seat in the State Senate, which is currently filled by Brian Birdwell, and all local democratic races.

Statewide, Texans will be voting for a Railroad commissioner and Texas Supreme Court justices, among other positions.

Here's a complete list of all races and for polling locations

Early voting continues until February 26.
