As a lifelong resident of the Brook-Oaks neighborhood, he said having the market there has made it easier for him to get food, and other community members see the market a Dallas community leaders have tried to recruit a corporate grocery store to south Oak Cliff for years, to no avail. Now they’re looking to replicate one-of-a-kind nonprofit store in Waco in their own backyard.
