This morning, according to a report from Horns Digest, the Baylor Board of regents voted to fire Baylor president and chancellor Ken Starr. But the University won't confirm those reports.

Baylor University has since issued a statement saying they "will not respond to rumors, speculation or reports based on unnamed sources." The university says they will make an announcement by June 3.

Starr, who’s known for his investigation into the Clinton administration, was heavily criticized for the school’s handling of reported sexual assaults, some of which have involved Baylor athletes. Athletic Director Ian McCaw and head football coach Art Briles have also come under fire amid recent reports that Baylor officials knew of the allegations facing its football players.

In 2014, former Baylor football player Tevin Elliot was convicted of two counts of sexual assault and sentenced to 20 years in prison.  In 2015, Sam Ukwuachu – another former football player – was convicted of sexually assaulting another athlete, and last month, Baylor Defensive End Shawn Oakman was charged with sexual assault and have since bonded out of jail. Baylor faces other accusations of mishandling sexual assault cases

The move to potentially fire Starr comes as the school’s regents are set to review the findings from Pepper Hamilton, the law firm hired last September to investigate the University’s response to sexual violence.

Starr has been the president of Baylor University since 2010.
