Patty Crawford has resigned as Baylor University's first fulltime Title IX coordinator. She will speak tomorrow on "CBS This Morning" to discuss  her resignation and the problems that persist at the university.

UPDATE: 5:40 PM

Patty Crawford will appear on 'CBS This Morning' to discuss her resignation and the problems that persist at Baylor University, Crawford’s Attorney Rogge Dunn said in apress release

"Patty is justifiably proud of what she was able to accomplish, but also profoundly troubled by what she views as Baylor's efforts to impede her ability to fully perform her Title IX responsibilities," the press release reads.

The University issued the news of Crawford’s resignation in a late-night press release.

“Our understanding is that Patty was disappointed in her role in implementing the recommendations that resulted from the Pepper Hamilton investigation,” the statement read.

Philadelphia-based law firm Pepper Hamilton was the third-party group brought in to look into Baylor’s response to sexual assault allegations. Ultimately, the group found a “fundamental failure” in Baylor’s handling sexual assault cases.

The university says they are confident in their Title IX office to “continue the important work of educating, supporting and responding to the needs of those impacted by interpersonal violence."

“The University is grateful for Patty’s leadership in establishing fair and equitable Title IX processes that are also supportive of the needs of survivors.”

Crawford's resignation comes nearly 2 years after she first joined the university.

Her primary role at Baylor, according to the school’s Title IX website, was to “oversee the investigation and resolution of all sex discrimination matters involving sexual violence, including sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking, as well as coordinate the University’s Title IX training and outreach in this issue area."

This summer, during student orientation, Crawford and the Title IX addressed the school’s failure to adequately respond to sexual assault allegations.

During one of the summer events – where overall campus safety is addressed -- Crawford told a crowd of incoming students and their parents that ultimately she wants for her job to not have to exist anymore.
