A few weeks ago, the coordinator of Baylor University's Title IX resigned, alleging that the school had prevented her from adequately investigating cases. Baylor denied the charges. But after her resignation, she appeared in a TV interview saying that a group of Baylor administrators “made sure they were protecting the brand, instead of our students.”


Patty Crawford has resigned as Baylor University's first fulltime Title IX coordinator. She will speak tomorrow on "CBS This Morning" to discuss  her resignation and the problems that persist at the university.

Black Gospel Collection Goes to Washington

Ever hear the song “Travelin’ Up” by the Singinaires? Probably not. The recording, along with some 5,000 others, is part of an effort to preserve early Black Gospel Music, based out of Baylor University. You can now hear some of these songs at the Smithsonian’s Museum for African American History and culture – which opens this weekend. 

iEngage Summer Camp Seeks to Get Kids Interested in Civics

When you think of summer camps you may think they center on traditional activities like arts and crafts, but at the weeklong iEngage camp, children in 5th to 9th grade are taking part in civic engagement and learning how they can make a difference in their communities. (CC BY 2.0)

This summer, a handful of high school teachers from across the state of Texas came to Baylor to work and research green chemistry. As KWBU’s Carlos Morales reports, it’s all done under the umbrella of the Molecular Design Research Network.

This week, Baylor University announced Mack Rhoades as its new athletic director.


This year's Baylor orientation is a bit different. It’s been nearly a month since major leadership changes at the University following an investigation into the school’s handling of sexual assaults. So what are incoming incoming students thinking in the wake of Baylor’s sexual assault scandal, and what changes are Baylor working towards?

Today, former Baylor head football coach Art Briles filed a motion, asking for new representation in a Title IX lawsuit filed against him, the Baylor Board of regents and former athletic director Ian McCaw. 


Today, Baylor University announced the creation of two task forces which will work to implement the 105 recommendations made by Pepper Hamilton, the law firm hired to investigate the university's handling of sexual assault.

Although Baylor Women’s Basketball exited the NCAA tournament earlier this week, they've seen unprecedented success during the past 16 years under coach Kim Mulkey. But in a sport where fan support can often be a luxury, one of Mulkey’s greatest accomplishments has been building a bridge between her team and the community. Baylor Opts Out of Campus Carry

Baylor University president Ken Starr announced that after consulting with faculty, staff and students, the private university will opt out of campus carry.

Last night Baylor students and community members gathered on campus to host a vigil in response to what event organizers called a failure on the university’s part to take appropriate action against rape.

In response to recent anti-Muslim sentiments -- such as remarks from GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump, who called for a complete ban on Muslims entering the U-S -- roughly 400 people, from Baylor faculty and students to community members, gathered, to offer encouragement and solidarity to those Muslim students at the university.
