During the December 2, 2025 Waco City Council meeting, KWBU was honored to receive a proclamation from the Mayor and Council, recognizing December 2, 2025 as KWBU 25th Anniversary Day in the City of Waco.

The proclamation recognizes the work of KWBU as a community-focused, listener-supported source of local and national programming for the last 25 years. In part, the proclamation reads, "Through times of change, KWBU has remained rooted in its mission and deeply connected to the community it serves, not just broadcasting to Waco, but growing with Waco. Today, KWBU proudly stands as Waco’s public radio station, locally focused, solely listener supported, and greatly committed to serving the needs, interests, and spirit of Central Texas."

KWBU President Joe Riley, reporter Molly-Jo Tilton and Board Members Cara Chase and Brian Sullivan represented the station in receiving the proclamation.

Riley, in response to the proclamation, said: "We've been serving Waco for 25 years ... and we do intend to serve it for 25 more years."
