Following KWBU's live broadcast of The Texas Standard in July, David brown, managing editor and host of The Texas Standard joined Rachel Velasco 'In Studio' to talk about his background in broadcast media, community, and the importance of public radio. -
Whilst in town celebrating KWBU's 25th anniversary, Grant Barrett, master of language and co-host of 'A Way with Words' spent some time in studio with Rachel Velasco. Amongst other topics they'll be discussing where Grant's interest in language initially came from and linguistic projects he's been involved with. We'll also be getting Grant's insight into Texan and Southern slang.

Bo MelloFor Baylor students, career success begins when they set foot on campus, with the help of the Baylor University Career Center. Baylor’s placement rate of 91 percent is one of the best in the nation, and its approach is student-centered, walking alongside students and helping them define success. Michael Estepp, Assistant Vice Provost in the Career Center, showcases the approach that helps students successfully pursue their calling. -

May 30, 2025 was the final airing of Baylor Connections on KWBU. Although we will miss having Derek Smith and so many from the Baylor family in studio, we appreciate the time and conversations that were shared in our studio over the years.

BUSINESS REVIEW
Launched in March of 2005, this series was one of the first weekly local productions on KWBU. The program won the nationally prestigious Communicator Award numerous times. Business Review came to a close after the May 2024 retirement of program creator and host, CJ Jackson. Business Review was a production of Livingston+McKay LLC, KWBU-FM and the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University.

For KWBU’s Central Texas Leadership Series this week, Rachel Velasco leads a conversation with Cade Kegerreis, a multidisciplinary artist specializing in oil painting and large-scale murals. Kegerreis has completed murals for clients such as Baylor University, The Texas Sports Hall of Fame, and Texas A&M University.

The Central Texas Leadership Series has gotten rebranded. On July 11, 2025 r The Sit Down with Rachel debuted. This second Friday monthly program is conversation with people shaping our community. From civic leaders and artists to advocates and organizers, it's about people you may not know - but should. The folks who are the real heart of Texas.
