September 16 - McLennan County Talks: Voter School with Tax Assessor-Collector Randy Riggs.
Property taxes fund the services we rely on every day—schools, police, fire protection, and roads. This November, Texans will decide on 14 proposed changes to the state constitution, and seven of them deal directly with property taxes. These decisions could shape how we pay for local services in the years to come.
That’s why McLennan County Talks is hosting a special voter school with Tax Assessor-Collector Randy Riggs. On September 16, you’ll get a clear overview of how the property tax system works in Texas.
Then on September 23, join us for a deeper look at the proposed changes and what they could mean here in McLennan County.
Both sessions begin at 6 p.m. at the Performing Arts Community Center, 924 Austin Avenue.
McLennan County Talks: relaxed, nonpartisan conversations that build community.
