Eclipse weekend events
FRIDAY, APRIL 5
- "Music Over Waco" - 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
A concert at Indian Spring Park will kick off the "Live from Waco" weekend of events. There will be live music on the banks of the Brazos River next to the Waco Suspension Bridge. Event opens at 6 p.m. and music will start at 7 p.m. Artist announcement coming soon. More information here.
SATURDAY, APRIL 6
- "STEAMclipse" - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A free event building STEAM awareness. There will be booths, space presentations and entertainment. NASA will be exhibiting and speaking. More information here.
- “American Eclipse” - 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The Jones Theater at Baylor University will perform "American Eclipse," a musical set in 1878. It tells the story of three American pioneers of science that prompted America’s rise to scientific greatness. You can purchase tickets here.
- "Glow Over Waco" - 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
A 5k and fun run hosted by the Greater Waco Sports Commission. Run along the Brazos river with glow sticks and LED lights. The city of Waco will also host a free concert. Tickets for the 5k and fun run can be purchased here.
SUNDAY, APRIL 7
- "Lights Over Waco Festival" - 7 p.m.
A free festival at Indian Spring Park in downtown Waco. There will be a lantern parade along the Waco Suspension Bridge, a free concert and an aerial drone display over the Brazos river. More information here.
- "Sci-Fi Spectacular: Sun, Moon, and Superstars" - 3 p.m.
The Waco Symphony Orchestra will play music from popular science fiction films. Come dressed as your favorite sci-fi character. Hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist and film critic Gary Cogill and conducted by Alex Amsel. You can purchase tickets here.
"Pre-Solar Eclipse Experience" in partnership with The Backyard Bar, Stage and Grill in Waco, the Hewitt Chamber of Commerce will provide a free day of music, games and vendors the day before the eclipse.
