Justice of Peace Recused in Biker's Case

Matthew Clendennen, a member of the Scimitars Motorcycle club is one of the 177 bikers arrested following the deadly Twin Peaks shootout.

Today Justice of the Peace Pete Peterson was recused from a case involving one of the 177 bikers arrested following the twin peaks shooting. KWBU’s Carlos Morales has more.

Peterson was recused from the case involving Matthew Clendennen, a member of the Scimitars Motorcycle club, who was arrested following the deadly Twin Peaks shootout.

Attorney Clint Broden, who represents Clendennen, filed a complaint against Peterson earlier last month.  That complaint alleges Peterson failed to uphold judicial conduct when setting $1 million dollar bonds for the jailed bikers.

Peterson’s recusal means he’ll be removed from any hearings involved in Clendennen’s case, which now falls to the closest justice of the peace  - Dianne Hensley

But according to the Waco Tribune-Herald, Broden said during the hearing today that Hensely intended to recuse herself since she didn’t believe she could remain impartial.
