I-35 Repairs Cause Closures

I-35 is a perennial construction headache, and beginning tonight work on the interstate’s bridge repair project will create some lane closures and change how you can access and exit the interstate.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, most of the changes will remain in place throughout the summer.

Starting tonight, the southbound center and right lanes and the right shoulder near New Road will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Crews will be removing traffic barriers and re-striping pavement. The roadwork will leave only one lane open overnight.

Other changes will affect how you reach Baylor University and downtown Waco. The Northbound off-ramps to the 4th street 5th street and University Parks Drive will be closing at 7 pm. According to the Texas Department of Transportation these closures will remain in place until late August, when repair work is expected to be completed.

Starting tomorrow night, the  Northbound right and center lanes, along with the right shoulder at 4th and 5th street will be closed overnight for repair, leaving only one lane open.
