13 Twin Peaks Biker Cases Dismissed

Thirteen bikers arrested in connection to the 2015 shootout at a Twin Peaks Restaurant in Waco had their cases dismissed yesterday.

Some involved in the case say the dismissals were political. They were announced just before a hearing scheduled to determine if District Attorney Abel Reyna should be recused from two biker’s cases. Former Prosecutor Greg Davis and others where anticipated to give politically damaging testimony during the hearing. Defense Attorney’s have accused Reyna of trying to avoid that testimony before the upcoming primary election. The District Attorney’s office dismisses that claim, and says it’s focusing efforts on defendants with more culpability.

The conflict between rival motorcycle groups-- The Bandidos and the Cossacks-- left 9 dead, over 20 injured, and resulted in the arrest of more than 170 bikers.
