Or, if your mom likes her music a little less New York-y and a little more Texas, then she will love the Fight For Five Kick Off to Summer Music Festival. It kicks off tonight, May 10, featuring a BBQ cook off and music by the Bart Crow Band and Texas legend, Ray Wylie Hubbard. The show will take place outside if the weather is nice, or inside if it is not, at the Karem Shrine Building at 400 Karem Shrine Circle.  Tickets are $20.  Gates open at 7 p.m. Coolers are allowed, but no glass containers.  Proceeds benefit Lochridge Priest employees who were injured in last year’s Coryell Memorial Hospital explosion.
