Austin Meek (L) and Cuevas Peacock (R) outside the KWBU Studios on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019.

In Episode 71 of Downtown Depot, show host Austin Meek interviews Cuevas Peacock. Peacock is a Community Organizer for Grassroots Community Development. He reframes the gentrification debate around cultural displacement versus economic displacement, shares success stories of working in Waco, and gives tips on how members of the community can take ownership for themselves.

This episode also marks three years since Downtown Depot has been on air!

Before the conversation with Peacock, Meek shines the Small Business Spotlight, presented by American Bank, on Hanna Austin of Bittersweet, and later learns about a new coupon app called Bidly in the Word on The Street.

Kateleigh joined KWBU in January 2019. She is an Oklahoma native that is making the move to Waco after working as an All Things Considered host and producer at affiliate KOSU Radio in Oklahoma City.
