Over 200 animals are available for free adoption today at the Humane Society of Central Texas during their Adopt-a-palooza event.
Mike Gray with the Humane Society of Central Texas showed us one of the dogs available for adoption.
"We have Diesel out here , aka Bristol, he was adopted a couple of years ago, and then got out as a stray, and then the owners never came back for him. He's available at the shelter. He's kinda a Pit Bull Shar Pei mix."
Diesel is pretty active but also like to cuddle.
If you are looking to adopt a pet, and have other dogs, the Humane Society asks that you bring those dogs with you on leashes for a meet and greet. They are also looking for foster families, where you take a pet home with you for a set period of time. The pet is still available for adoption, but living with you for a while.
Adopt-a-palooza will feature food trucks, snow cones and a prize wheel. The event is going on until 9pm at 2032 Circle Road.
Tomorrow, the Humane Society of Central Texas will be at the Dr Pepper Museum for their Dr Pupper event.
"There will be a pet costume contest, there's going to be a look like your dog contest. It's going to be a lot of fun. Bring your dogs with you, and we will have the adoption trailer out there as well."
