If you’re planning to drive along the Brazos river Sunday morning, you may have to take a detour. The annual TriWaco Triathlon is set for Sunday Morning.
Athletes will start with a swim in the Brazos river, then bike a set distance, and finish with a run before crossing the finish line on the Suspension Bridge.
Athletes will bike along University Parks Dr. and run along Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. and Cameron Park Dr.
The race will begin at 6:30 am, with staging between 4:30 am and 6:00 am. The course closes at 11:30 am.
The below roads are expected to be closed:
- University Parks Dr between Lake Shore Drive and I-35 from 5 am - 12 pm
- Martin Luther King Boulevard between Washington Ave and Herring Avenue and parts of Cameron Park Drive from 5 am - 12 pm
- The Washington Avenue Bridge
- The Suspension Bridge
Closures are expected to last until 12 pm.
