Members of Waco City Council and city staff, including Fire Chief Robby Bergeron, turn over the ceremonial first shovels during the groundbreaking for Station 4's new location on LaSalle Avenue.

Waco Fire Station 4 will soon have a new location off La Salle, replacing its current location on Speight Avenue.

Station 4 is the only station east of I-35 and serves both South Waco and Baylor neighborhoods.

“This is about more than just a new location,” Fire chief Robby Bergerson said during the groundbreaking ceremony. “It’s a strategic investment in public safety.”

He added that Station 4 is one of the busiest stations in town and the move will help to improve response times for the area.

The new station will cost nearly $6 million. Construction is underway and expected to be completed by spring 2027.
