Waco Regional Airport gets rid of free parking October 1.

Starting October 1, visitors to the Waco Regional Airport will use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking in any of the three lots. The new parking fee is $5 per day, plus app fees, for the first year.

At 40% capacity, the fee is expected to bring in just over $400,000 in the first year.

Airport Manager James Harris told council Tuesday this measure is partially mandated by the FAA, which requires airports to make an effort towards self-reliance.

The council approved the measure as part of the consent agenda. Over the next month, airport staff will be adding signs to the parking areas with payment instructions.

A small lot will be reserved for short term parking of 2 hours or less.
