Doug McNamee will be the next Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, the University announced in a press release Monday. McNamee most recently served as President of Field & Stream – an outdoors magazine and apparel company.
McNamee ‘s appointment marks a return to Baylor Athletics, where he spent nearly a decade, rising to Senior Associate Athletics Director before leaving in 2018. In his time at Baylor, he served on the search committee that hired former head football coach Matt Rhule and played a key role in the fundraising and planning for McLane Stadium.
McNamee joins the Athletics department after former Athletic Director Mack Rhoades stepped down in November amidst unspecified allegations against him.
