In a press release Monday, the City of Waco announced four finalists for the City Manager position.

Current Deputy City Manager Deidra Emerson and Assistant City Manager Ryan Holt have been named among finalists to replace current city Manager Bradley Ford, who will step down in February.

The city received applications from 70 candidates from across the country. Emerson and Holt, along with two other finalists, will meet with the city council and mayor this week for final interviews.

Joining the two Wacoans are Jared Miller, who currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Texas Division of Emergency Management and was previously City Manager for Amarillo and San Marcos; and Helen Ramirez who serves as City Manager for Brownsville and previously worked with the city of Hutto.

The City Council could have a decision on the new City Manager as early as the January 20th council meeting.
