In a press release on his Facebook page Monday, Aiden Morgan announced he would drop out of the race for Waco Mayor. He said the decision came after reflection and thoughtful conversations with his family.

In the press release, he said “while this campaign may be coming to a close, my dedication to Waco and its future remains unwavering.”

The Waco healthcare worker also announced he was endorsing Waco Mayor Jim Holmes in his re-election campaign.

"I believe in his leadership and his vision for Waco's future," Morgan said. "Waco's best days are still ahead of us."

Holmes faces a challenge from former educator David Howard Ponder. Tuesday is the last day for early voting in the May 2 Election.
