Talarico's Baylor campaign stop marks new approach to political events on campus
Election day is officially under 50 days away and campaigning is ramping up around the state. Perhaps one of the most-watched races is that for the U.S. senate seat from Texas between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico.
On Wednesday, Talarico made a stop at Baylor University’s Hurd Welcome Center for Baylor students, faculty and staff.
Is possessing smokable hemp flower and concentrate legal in Texas? No one knows.
For years, Texans could walk into a smoke shop and buy cannabis flower that looked and smelled exactly like the marijuana Willie Nelson has spent decades singing about. And it produced the same effects, too, because it came from the same plant, cannabis, but was sold legally as hemp.
Now, the products that people smoked or vaped have been removed from stores in Texas. Pretty much the only mind-altering hemp products left are edibles and drinks.
So stores can't sell smokable hemp products. But are people allowed to possess hemp flower and concentrate? As KUT's Nathan Bernier reports, no one in government seems to have a straightforward answer.
