Conversations with Creative Waco - Black History Month Roundtable

February's edition of Conversations with Creative Waco honors Black History Month with a roundtable conversation with three young Black creatives paving their path in Waco's cultural scene through fashion, photography and music.

First, Kennedy Sam is joined by photographer and videographer RJ Jones and musician Tneyah Lanae about their journey into finding their artistic passion, growing as an artist in Waco and ways the community can support up and coming creatives.

In the second half of the episode, De'Oryen Thornton joins the conversation with RJ Jones to share about his path to entrepreneurship opening Clasé Vintage and Goods, the importance of having a team around you, and the legacy he hopes to leave behind.

Kennedy Sam is the Director of Marketing and Communications for Creative Waco, McLennan County’s arts agency. As a longtime Waco resident, Kennedy was excited to return to her hometown to begin her career serving the community she loves. She is the host of Conversations with Creative Waco where she sits down with local arts leaders, movers, and shakers to highlight events and stories of Waco's arts and culture sector. In her spare time, she enjoys rediscovering all that Waco has to offer and exploring the many walking trails with her pup Bleu.
