It's all about art (and KWBU's Meet Up!) in this edition of Conversations with Creative Waco. First, host Kennedy Sam talks with KWBU Advisory Board member, along with local artist and gallery owner Susan Sistrunk about the upcoming KWBU art themed Meet Up. Then she speaks with Cultivate7Twelve gallery manager Debbie Wright about holiday activities at the gallery.

October is the month for cultural celebrations. Doreen Ravenscroft, founder and Executive Director of the Cultural Arts of Waco, talks about this year’s Waco Cultural Arts Fest which runs September 30th through October 2nd. And later in October, the second annual Dia de los Muertos Parade and Festival. Nancy Pulchini and Eric Lineras - part of the team organizing the October 29 event - were in the KWBU studio to talk about it with host Kennedy Sam.

September brings us two episodes of Conversations with Creative Waco. On this 4th Friday edition, meet some folks who use their words to take us on a journey and are building communities along the way. Host Kennedy Sam talks with Tonee Shelton, a local poet and published author. Also on the program Abbie Williams and Ryan Thomas. They introduce us to Growing Pens and Collide Creative.

Host Kennedy Sam talks with artist Jack Bowers about his exhibit Perspectivism, opening at Art Center Waco on September first, as well as local photographer Chester Rivera about his work, and about his Way-koh project.

Host Kennedy Sam talks with this year's ArtPrenticeship leaders, mentors, and students to get an update on this year's projects.

July brings two episodes of Conversations with Creative Waco. On this 4th Friday episode, Amanda Dyer - DIrector of Public Arts and Development with Creative Waco. She joins host Kennedy Sam to talk about paving the path for new public artwork in the community. Also this week information on the Youth Art Gallery fundraiser for the Advocacy Center.

In this episode, Creative Waco Executive Director Fiona Bond has a conversation with Samuel Thomas and Louis Hunter, co-founders of the Deep in the Heart Film Festival, coming to Waco in July. Then we get to know Sol Bautista, the new Director of Professional Development and Outreach for Creative Waco.
