Food and entertainment recommendations from local Wacoans!

Joe Riley, President & CEO of KWBU

TO EAT – “Health Camp (they know my order by heart). I also like the hamburger steak at Kim’s and the grilled shrimp at Shaan Southern Eatery. Oh, and the meatloaf at World Cup Café. And at Clay Pot, ‘Stan’s Clay Pot’ is really good.”

TO DO – “What to do, what to do… I enjoy exploring the city with my camera looking for WhereInWaco shots. (Especially enjoy the public art – Waco has a LOT of it.)”

Brodie Bashaw, Station Manager & Host

TO EAT - “Molly's Mexican Restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Tell Josh I said hello! Christi's Hamburgers. Jims Crispy Chicken for the best chicken tenders - more of a take out option. They take a minute but it's worth the wait. Heitmillers is good for dining in. Quite partial to most of the appetizers and their salads. A Waco classic that is tops for dessert, Katie's Custard! Try the Butter Pecan!”

TO DO – “Brazos Theatre is great fun with dinner theater, improv or comedy. Cameron Park is phenomenal. The open space, people watching or walking the trails. I also LOVE Cameron Park Zoo and the Mayborn Museum. The Farmers Market is wonderful.”

Loretta Howard, Membership Services Administrator
