I was born and raised in Michigan, in the metro-Detroit area. I studied journalism and English literature at IU, and the more I learned about public radio, the more I wanted to work in the field. I’m excited to start my work here at WBAA, reporting on issues affecting the Greater Lafayette area.

Dr. Jones has taught British, World, and American literature to college students for almost fourteen years, at four universities, all in the state of Texas. Although his abiding interests in children’s and young adult literature prevailed during his earlier years as an educator and scholar, he has more lately turned his attention to the stories, novels, poems, and films of the Gothic and Weird fiction genres, both in the American and European traditions.

While as a journalist, she enjoys finding stories that are really happening, there’s still nothing like a good book. Her favorite genres are contemporary fiction and literary nonfiction.

An over 30-year resident of Waco, Elizabeth Barnhill works as the adult book buyer at Waco’s independent bookshop, Fabled. She spends her days reading books, talking with publishers and authors, conducting personalized shopping appointments at Fabled, and curating books for all types of readers in the Waco community and beyond. She is also a regular contributor to the Wacoan’s Cover to Cover feature and book podcasts including the Currently Reading podcast. She has two degrees from Baylor University and is married with three grown children. Her book recommendations can be found @Wacoreads on Instagram.
