Justin T. Jones, PhD

Dr. Jones has taught British, World, and American literature to college students for almost fourteen years, at four universities, all in the state of Texas. Although his abiding interests in children’s and young adult literature prevailed during his earlier years as an educator and scholar, he has more lately turned his attention to the stories, novels, poems, and films of the Gothic and Weird fiction genres, both in the American and European traditions.

In his spare time, Dr. Jones runs 5Ks, listens to an eclectic mix of classical, rock, and folk music on vinyl, and composes increasingly bizarre poetry and short fiction. When time and finances permit, he travels around the United Kingdom looking at stone circles, tors, cairns, and other such Neolithic formations and sites of ancient folklore, magic, or religious ritual.

Dr. Jones currently lives in Hewitt, Texas with his wife April and two sons, Owen and Eric. The Jones family also includes a rescue mutt named Bruce Wayne, though Dr. Jones has always wanted a raven. He has almost finished his first year of full-time lecturing with the Baylor University English Department.
