SHOUT! Black Gospel Music Moments - The Gerald Sisters

For forty years, the Gerald Sisters have performed in churches and auditoriums throughout the Carolinas. The four singer’s soulful versions of old time gospel have made them thousands of fans along the way. The Geralds started singing together in the mid-1960s and signed their first contract with Hoyt Sullivan’s small, South Carolina-based HSE Records label in 1973. They released a half-dozen LPs for HSE before joining industry powerhouse Malaco Records in 1980.

Through the years, the sisters have taken turns arranging old gospel classics and spirituals ... but the end result is always true to their deep South gospel roots. This well-loved 45 from the Gospel Music Archives at Baylor University features sister Betty Gerald’s fine arrangement of “Just Make It In.”
